About Latta Plumbing

In May 1981, with one truck, and a one room 200 square foot building in Gardendale Alabama, Latta Plumbing was born. Today Latta Plumbing employees nearly 50 people, operates 24 trucks and produces annual sales between 7 and 10 million.

The interest in plumbing started with Rex when he went to work for a plumbing company while in high school. After high school he attended Jacksonville State University and took a job as a plumber’s helper at an Army base in Anniston, Alabama. He later returned to Birmingham and went to work as a plumber for Whetstone Plumbing.

Meanwhile, Randy left his coaching job at the University of Tennessee-Martin and joined Rex as a plumber at Whetstone. A couple of years later, the two brothers decided to go into business for themselves An American success story that began with determination and hard work of brothers Rex Latta and Randy Latta…

Rex and Randy started Latta Plumbing with a capital of only one thousand dollars and paid themselves minimum wage for four years to help get the business going. Their first year’s revenues were $100,000 and grew steadily at a rate of five to ten percent each year after that.

Latta Plumbing concentrates on residential service, commercial design and institutional projects and has built a solid reputation based on honesty and professional work.

In 2007 Latta Plumbing moved from their 4,000 square foot building to a new, 10,000 square foot office located at 2605 Decatur Highway in Gardendale, Alabama.

Latta Plumbing takes great pride in delivering exceptional service and better job management by implementing the newest equipment and devices and through ongoing education and training.

Latta Plumbing believes strongly in community involvement. Part of that involvement is contributing to local youth sports programs. “We are located right in the heart of a strong and growing community. We want to be a part of it and let our customers and neighbors know that we appreciate all of them,” says Randy. “We are very proud to be a part of Gardendale.”
